JANUARY 2013

Once again the beautiful Tundra swans have arrived on our north coast. They fly in every year at this time (nature's clock) from the Arctic Circle, stay 3 months then fly back, always all together. This year I am going over to the edge of the Pacific with my paints to capture them in watercolor for my North Coast Sketchbook. I hope I can get close enough as they tend to flap and swim away as soon as people try to come near.  Wish me luck as they will make great subject matter for an artist!

I have always wanted to write and paint about where I live,
so now I have started my North Coast Sketchbook. I think California's scenic north coast is just as wonderful as the South of France and Italy and as for the food and wine,  it's a Farm to Table destination for many people.
This will be a good winter project!

Coloring up the Fall Season

With Fall in the air I'm adding a little color to the mix...
I have had this collection for many years and a  lot of these hand screened prints are no longer available and will now move into the rare world of textile done by hand rather than machine.
All of the pieces you see here are from Tarascon in the South of France, historic home of 18th century Provençal fabrics

SEPTEMBER 2012

Summer is over and now we head into Indian summer on the Mendocino Coast. This is our prettiest weather, the valley heat has cooled and we are free of cooling fog. So it's long, sunny warm days from now until Christmas.
