It's Valentine's Day at the beach. Here at House in the Country there are lots of things to love. Our new and beautiful website for one. All our familiar art, easy to see and easy to order. This doesn't mean that we are not at your service to answer any questions you might have. Give it a try, we love our loyal customers, designers and friends.
This weekend brought a visit from our friend, San Francisco art dealer Edmond Russell. As well as a lifelong enthusiasm for fine art Ed loves to cook and to eat. He gave me a great bread recipe fast and easy, a classic recipe for potatoes Dauphinois and a Meyer Lemon souffle to be made from the basket of lemons he brought along from his own lemon trees in Fairfax, CA. I didn't know the Meyer Lemon was native to California....until Ed told me. As a native he would know.
We also made a visit to Franny's little jewel of a bakery in Point Arena where the impulse was to say "one of each, please". Franny and her mother Barbara do a great service to our community with their lovely creations. No one can resist and we had to pick up some treats, after all it is Valentine's Day!
