                                    BEHIND THE SCENES

There is a story behind most of the art images at House in the Country. One of our most enduring and endearing print sets has always been the tonal drawings of Paris buildings and monuments done by anonymous art students who were sent out on the streets with paper and charcoal to record the famous views of the old city in the mid- 1800's.

The PARIS SCENES photographed in House in the Country's factory kitchen.
Canvas size 40"x60"
We bought this portfolio on a trip to Paris in 1998. The drawings were then re-formatted, antiqued then organized into different sizes and printed on archival canvas for presentation as part of our art line. I have enjoyed giving a forum to these long gone and uncelebrated artists and seeing their rustic work well received.    So many people have loved and bought this set that we still feature the art and it is always available on our website under 'Browse the Art' look for the heading PARIS SCENES.   As always the art is available for immediate shipment and in sizes ranging from 8"x10" up to 40"x60".
Until next time when I will be back with more House in the Country history and stories, keep imagining art on your walls.
